LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF ~ Stephanie J. Esposito, LMT

A graduate of NY College of Health Professions and former ballet dancer of 15 years, my slow and rhythmic movements allow each client’s treatment to  be unique, relaxing and medically therapeutic.

My approach to massage treatments focus on increasing one’s range of motion, circulation, improving health and well-being by enhancing confidence and energy flow. My integrity and intention hold the same meaning when treating my clients, calming daily stressors which can trigger bouts of muscular or nerve pain and even anxiety and depression.

Modalities include slow, fluent movements similar to a Esalen and Lomi-Lomi  approach incorporating: Deep Tissue, Swedish Massage, Hot Stone, Cold Stone, Prenatal and Trigger Point.

Stephanie J. Esposito Licensed Massage Therapist

“ Massage is an art of the mind & body. A rythmic, slow dance around the table which is unique and dedicated to the needs of my client.”

“Massage is simply love for the soul.”

Essential Healing Treatments

Swedish~Relaxation Massage

Swedish massage is gentler than deep tissue massage and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief.

 *kneading

*long strokes

*deep circular movements

*passive joint movements

are primarily used to relax the body to help relieve tension in the most common areas.

Swedish technique helps treat clients that suffer from chronic insomnia, boosts endorphins to lift spirits, calming the nervous system and allows the circulatory system to move lymph and toxins out of the body.

Deep Tissue~Medical Massage

Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue.

It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

Pre-Natal Massage

Pre-Natal massage can reduce stress hormones in your body and relax and loosen your muscles. It can also increase blood flow, which is so important when you're pregnant, and keep your lymphatic system working at peak efficiency, flushing out toxins from your body. It reconnects your mind with your body.

During pregnancy, regular prenatal massages may not only help you relax, but may also relieve insomnia, joint pain, neck and back pain, leg cramping and sciatica. Additionally, it can reduce swelling in your hands and feet (as long as that swelling isn't a result of preeclampsia), relieve carpal tunnel pain, and alleviate headaches and sinus congestion — all common pregnancy problems. Massage may also lift depression without the use of medication, according to some scientific studies.

Triggerpoint Therapy

Trigger point is a type of massage therapy targeting areas of the muscles that have contracted and formed small, fibrous nodules that are tender to the touch, sometimes referred to as “knots.” Pressing on these points can also produce pain in other areas, sometimes quite a distance from the point of origin. This is called “referred pain.”

Unlike other types of massage that may involve the whole body, trigger point massage focuses on these specific areas by applying isolated pressure on the point, followed by release.

Cold Stone

Cold stone massage involves chilled marble stones on ice which benefits areas of inflammation due to arthritis, TMJ, headaches and other injuries. These stones are combined with oil to smooth over joints and maybe left on areas for 4-5 minutes.

Cupping

Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.

People use cupping to complement their care for a host of issues and conditions.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is used in any type of massage technique using massage oil or lotion that contains

highly concentrated plant oils.

During an aromatherapy massage, you inhale these essential oils while absorbing them through your skin. They are thought to promote beneficial changes in your mind and body by affecting the limbic system, a region of the brain known to be involved in emotion.

Vibration Therapy

Vibration movements can help stimulate nerves, relieve muscular tension and decrease stress. Vibrations at a slower pace are an effective treatment to produce a feeling of relaxation. The benefits of vibration massage techniques are relieved tight muscles, reduced stress and improved circulation.

Benefits of Vibration Therapy can include: Alleviating stress and having a moderate increase in blood flow.

Vibration therapy stimulates the muscles causing them to contract and relax involuntarily. Vibration therapy can soothe the body from some pain and be a generally pleasant experience while providing some massage-like benefits to the user. The primary function is the contraction and release of muscles, which uses the body’s biomechanics to produce results.
